I talk to a lot of CEOs and believe that the deliberately successful ones are disengaged people. They are not the spitting image of the typical passionate entrepreneur that the media projects. Passion may fuel persistence but it impales objectivity. Decisions under such circumstances can't be sane. There is a lot of success by serendipity that we foolishly immortalize and attempt to emulate in our false sense of reality. No wonder there are so many popular books that keep churning and should rightly be titled "Success Strategy of The Month - Buy It So That The Author Can Make A Living". What you really need is persistence without passion.
